Cloud Data Engineer/SRE

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. 
• Technical Skills: 
• 2-5 years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role. 
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data tools like Spark, Kafka, or Ansible. 
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with expertise in building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines. 
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a focus on cross-team collaboration. 

 

FUNCTION:

Oversees the development of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based data architecture. Bridges business needs with technical implementation, ensuring that data pipelines, storage systems, and analytics platforms align with organizational goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop scalable and efficient data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Private Cloud).
• Design, manage, and perform data integration on data warehouses and lakes for analytics and reporting needs.
• Define and implement a data engineering strategy aligned with business goals.
• Ensure security best practices are followed in compliance with industry regulations, such as ISO/IEC 27001, NERC CIP, etc.
• Provide technical guidance to data engineers and customers.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize data-related initiatives.
• Implement data governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
